Sister Victoria Dorsey

Victoria Lynn Dorsey was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma November 19th, 1972 to Wendell & Margaree Dorsey. Victoria is the youngest daughter of 5 siblings and was exposed to professional environments at a very early age. She saw her father teach computer science at Tulsa Junior College as a young child. This instilled the impetus and desire to become a counselor and teacher. Victoria is currently in private practice counseling individuals, couples, families, and teens. She has been practicing psychotherapy and serving the Austin community since 2005. Her experience includes providing treatment in juvenile correctional facilities. Prior to her work in Travis County she worked with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. Her experience includes working with issues involving sexual abuse, grief, divorce, domestic violence, anxiety, fear, depression and aggression. Victoria has spoken and presented several times at the Central Texas African American Family Support Conference (sponsored by MHMR) addressing issues of culture, spirituality, and divorce. Victoria is an Alumni member of Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority. She has also been a long-standing member of the Texas Counseling Association.

Victoria graduated from The University of Texas at Austin receiving a Bachelor in Psychology in 1996. She received her Master’s in Counseling and Pastoral Ministry from the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest in 2005. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Advanced Human Behavior from Capella University.
