Pastor Wess Morgan

Pastor Wess Morgan has become increasingly popular for his ability to sing soulful melodies over lyrics that yield life building messages along with his unique ability to share God’s word alongside his personal testimony. Both the music and spoken word coming from Pastor Wess connects with the hearts of people all over the nation who are in search of “the rest of their lives.” This connection with so many across the globe is not by happenstance, but the direct result of his amazing life journey and tremendous personal story.

At a young age, Wess Morgan began travelling, along side his parents, Pastors Joseph & Yolanda Morgan and siblings Joey and Delana. By the time he was 10yrs of age, his life took a turn for what appeared to be devastation with no point of return. He began using drugs and drinking alcohol, which quickly turned to him abusing both substances. The abuse took several turns including repeated jail sentences along with time spent in recovery centers away from home, family and friends. Although many had given up on him, his family and close friends held on to their faith in God that he would be delivered from a grim life filled with so many uncertainties.

Pastor Wess would eventually recover and thereby embrace the mission to become an agent of change in the lives of people in need of transformation before and after drug and alcohol abuse. To accompany this mission, the vision of Pastor Wess Morgan was birthed, and in November 2007, he released his debut CD title “Look at Me Now” under his newly formed label Bowtie World Music. The contemporary Gospel music CD serves as a testament to the experience of transformation in his life. Once “Look at Me Now” was commercially released, the Christian based media industry began publicizing Pastor Morgan’s remarkable success story via TV, radio and print media. He began giving interviews and performing songs from his debut CD project before audiences across the world. Such appearances have included Gospel music recording artists and Christian personalities such as Paula White, Carmen, Pastor Rod Parsley, the late Bishop G.E. Patterson, Dr. Bobby Jones, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Walter Hawkins, Fred Hammond, Kim Burrell, The Crabb Family, Daryl Coley, and many others.

In 2011, he was back in the studio and released his sophomore CD (and live DVD) Under an Open Heaven, Volume 1, a collaboration with his family as well as close friends in the industry and his ministry, including the Crabb Family. The CD/DVD featured the smash hit “I Choose to Worship”, a breathtakingly honest track that helped Bowtie World Music land on Billboard’s 2011 Top-10 record label list, and also garner a Dove Award and Stellar Award nomination for Pastor Wess as well as win BMI Gospel Song of the Year.

Pastor Wess even caught the eye of Tyler Perry, who saw his impromptu performance at New York City’s renowned Village Underground and offered him a role in his stage play Laugh to Keep from Crying. Since starring in the play, he has appeared in the Christmas special “Holiday Love” with Kim Fields and has made numerous appearances on Christian TV, Bobby Jones Gospel, the Mo’Nique Show, Gospel Superfest, and Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. More recently, Pastor Wess has appeared on BET’s Sunday Best, hosted AFI’s Your Dream Is Out There competition and another Tyler Perry stage play Madea’s Neighbors from Hell.

He also hosts an annual Recovery Fest, based in Tennessee at his parent’s church, that attracts thousands of people from all over the country. Recovery Fest is all about celebration and determination. Pastor Wess released his third album entitled Livin’ in 2014. Livin’ focuses on the wonderful space Pastor Wess is in. The singles “You Paid It All” and “Cry” are touching lives all over the world. Livin’ can be found at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, iTunes and Amazon.
