Pastor Cheryl Thacker-Brown

Pastor Cheryl Lynne Thacker-Brown – Born in The Bronx, New York on March 8, 1967, Cheryl Lynne Thacker-Brown is the youngest child of the late Willie Lee Thacker and Mattie Boyd, and was also born on their 17 wedding anniversary. She has 4 sisters, 5 brothers, and 2 brothers who are deceased. Although she was raised in church, singing on the choir and regularly attending services, she was strongly influenced by the environment where she lived. By age 11, she took her first alcoholic drink; by 13, she was smoking marijuana and snorting cocaine; and by 17, she was a full blown crack addict. She relocated to Youngstown, Ohio at age 19, assuming that a change of environment would cure her of the addiction that had her bound. But, by age 21, she was back in New York, searching once again for crack wherever she could find it, and by any means necessary. She gave birth to two children in New York, a girl in 1989 and a son in 1991. During both pregnancies, she continued to smoke crack cocaine daily. Two weeks after giving birth to her son, she took her children and moved to Ohio. She seriously wanted to be free, but crack made one last attempt to destroy her destiny. She began using again, and once again realized she was pregnant in 1995. BUT GOD HAD ANOTHER PLAN! On February 18, 1995, she took her last hit of crack cocaine, called upon the Name of Jesus to deliver her, and, TO GOD BE THE GLORY, she has never taken another hit! She went after God as fiercely as she went after crack, and in 2000, she heard the call to preach God’s Word. In 2002, she left all her familiar comfort zones, and moved to New Castle, Delaware. By the providence of God, became a member of Higher Ground Ministries, Int’l., under the leadership of the late Bishop Nathaniel Henry & Apostle Linda Henry, where she remained a faithful member & diligent worker until 2012. Pastor Cheryl was married in 2004, and acquired three more children in addition to her own. Her marriage was tumultuous, to say the least. But God enabled Pastor Cheryl to attend Higher Ground Bible Institute, acquire a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, and become an ordained Elder in 2006. In July, 2011, Pastor Brown published her first book, “The Re-Making of an Addict”, which has been sold out on Amazon several times since released! In February, 2013, Pastor Cheryl was led to New Covenant Christian Fellowship, under the tutelage of Pastor Ray & Lady Donna Taylor. In 2010, God led Pastor Cheryl to start “Chosen 4His Glory Ministries, LLC.”, and along with her husband, they hosted a monthly Men’s Fellowship Group, a Women’s Fellowship Group, and a Marriage Fellowship Group right in the living room of their own home! In June 2013, Chosen 4His Glory Ministries, LLC held its first Conference, in which a MIGHTY MOVE OF GOD took place. In September, 2013, The Browns separated, with their divorce finalizing soon after. BUT GOD TURNED IT! The Browns were reconciled and remarried September 16, 2015! Currently residents of Ohio, “The Brown Duo” go forth in ministry, and were installed as Pastors of Chosen 4His Glory Ministries, LLC in December, 2015. The ministry hosts a weekly Bible Study, “Walking Out The Word”, the monthly fellowships “Saved, Single, & Sober”, “MOR (Men On the Run), The Marriage Fellowship, WOWWW (Women Of Wisdom, Worship, & War), and Healed From The Inside Out, a restoration & recovery group. Pastor Cheryl delivers the Word of God to congregations throughout the Mahoning Valley area, and wherever the Lord leads. In 2014, Pastor Cheryl published FOUR books: “The Re-Making of An Addict, Revised Edition”, “I Was Just Tryna’ Get Off Crack!”, and introduced Volume One and Volume Two of the series, “Life Lessons: Things I’ve Learned Along The Way”. She has been blessed with three grandchildren through her eldest daughter and her son-in-law, and six grandchildren through her reunion with Pastor David. Pastor Cheryl lives to leave a legacy to her grandchildren. Through Pastor Cheryl, God has proven that what the devil meant for bad, GOD WILL ALWAYS turn it around for GOOD! Her favorite scripture is Psalms 121:1-2—“I WILL LIFT UP MY EYES UNTO THE HILLS FROM WHENCE COMETH MY HELP. MY HELP COMETH FROM THE LORD!”
